Olympic Velodrome

The Olympic Velodrome is part of the wider Olympic Complex in Maroussi . Constructed in 1991 and until 2003 worked as open Velodrome . In 2004 it was renovated by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava and placed roof . It is the only Indoor Velodrome country .

History

The Olympic Velodrome conducted :

  • Olympics Cycling in August 2004 ,
  • Paralympic Games in September 2004 ,
  • World Cup track men – women in 1995 , 1996 , 1997 ,
  • the World Junior Championship – nenanidon 1992 and 1999 ,
  • Mediterranean Games 1991
  • the Balkan struggles between men and adolescents in 2000 ,

also conducted the National Track Championships and Cup every year .

Presentation

The Olympic Velodrome is a permanent sports facility and which lays in the southwestern part of the Athens basin . The distance from the center of Athens 18.1 km and 22.7 km from the port of Piraeus .
The main entrance is in Spyrou Loui fenced and has 250 parking spaces.

The venue of the Olympic velodrome has been covering 4,000 m2 , 7,000 m2 building , surface / installing 53,400 m2 and percentage of total area of the OAKA 6.20% . The perimeter is 250 meters , the slope of which is to viraz 42th and 12th on the straights

It has a capacity of 5000 seats , of which 3100 spectators, 1500 journalists and 400 official .

He closed circuit television , two generators , fire protection system .

Operates daily from Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 22:00 .
